I have a Uniden BCD992P2. I've downloaded all of the programing data for the scanner from right here at RadioReference. I find a LOT of transmissions that are showing trunking ID's instead of the names. When I look through my list of frequencies in Freescan, I don't find these ID's which means RadioReference doesn't have the ID's in their database and the scanner is just finding these ID's. Sometimes these sound like primary frequencies for towns that I have programmed in that have other ID's tagged as primary. I get a lot of NJSP traffic where only an ID shows up. For example, I was just listening to traffic on NJ SP Central Troop C trunked and there's an ID of 24656. The trooper is giving dispatch information regarding an accident he's at.

Why is it that RadioReference apparently doesn't have a lot of the ID's for these trunked channels? Is the data generally not available? Please forgive me if this is something that is generally known. I just want to confirm if it's something I'm doing wrong or if the data just isn't complete (which is ok because having the ability to download frequencies/trunked data from RadioReference is awesome.

Talkgroup IDs or radio/unit IDs?

If nobody submits them, they will not be in the database. Use the Submit Info button on the top of every page.

Talkgroup ID's. I really couldn't submit info because I don't know what the talkgroups are specifically called. I'm just surprised by the number of talkgroup ID's that come up.

Unless a system user submits them, someone has to listen, figure out the user, and submit. Recording and logging with ProScan helps.

talkgroup id's and radio id's are not inherent or specifically tied to any one trunking system, sometimes they are used on several radio systems at the same time by different users.

Since the one TG you mention, 24656 IS in the RR database, it's YOUR programing error.
24656 is listed as Parks DD Disp Park police dispatch, not state trooper.

Your posts also reflect your not understanding the system, you mention Freqs. etc. Freqs have NO bearing on the TG's
