I have a Whistler that I have been using for about 2 years. It has suddenly gotten out of the Trunking ,mode, it seems. I carried it in my computer bag between home and work and I think maybe a button or two got hit during transfer. It appears everything is still there, but it just isn't in Trunking mode. Can someone direct me to an easy fix?
Thank you in advance,
JaggieC

Was the scanner on while you were carrying it in the bag. Please let us know the model number. What does the display show?

And yes, tvengr it was on. I feel certain that it is just a simple fix, but I have been all over the place looking for an answer and was so excited when I found this forum.

Most likely, a scan list got turned off. Take a look at the display and turn on any lists which are off. Which trunked system are you scanning?

I'm not sure. Someone set it up for me and I had county police, ems, fire, local school as well as our local state police troupe. At some point while messing with it, I did find the list/group (I forget how it's worded) so I know it is still there, I just can't figure out how to get back to trunking. I shouldn't have bothered y'all with it. I just hoped someone would be able to say hit this and this. lol Just delete my post. I had decided I would send it in to be reprogrammed but I found this group and thought I might be able to figure it out with some help, but since I know so little, y'all carry on with more important issues.

It must be scan lists 1 thru 10. Scan lists 11 thru 20 require a 2-button sequence to turn on and off. The top row of scan lists is 1 thru 10. They are toggled on and off by pressing the 1 thru 0 buttons on the keypad. If you see a number, the scan list is on. If you see a dot, the scan list is off. Starting with scan list 1, press the corresponding button for each scan list which is off until the trunked system starts working again. If the scan lists are not visible, press SCAN.

Thank you tvengr. I am not sure what I have done but it is now coming through. (ONLY the sherriffs office, not other channels that are saved) I didn't see you last instructions until after I was messing with it and had the manual button, and it is currently showing TGA with T in black and it says TSYS at the bottom of the screen, but I do have my county sheriff's office coming through. It is flashing Pope CO SO and Arkansas Wireless where my standby (same model radio) is Scanning and flashing the numbers. When I hit scan on radio #1, it nos says nothing enabled but I can go back to man and it shows as stated above.

If you see a capital GA at the top of the display, the global attenuator is on. Press the ATT button to turn it off. That should make a noticeable difference with the conventional frequencies.

OMG... I knew it HAD to be something simple. Now I gotta figure out how to get it back to the scanned lists. Thank you so much
