Since radio reference doesn’t provide the system key then how would it be possible to scan trunked radio on a radio like an xts5000 or another radio like that?
A system key is used to enable the trunking parameters in CPS. Master System keys are produced by the manufacturer(Motorola in the case of the XTS series) and are given to the system operator. With out a system key, you can not set the trunking parameters. Period.
System keys are used to keep unauthorized folks(you, me and anyone else the system operator does not want programming radios to operate on their network)from programming trunking radios on their network.
Please just buy a scanner or unication pager. Your lack of understanding of what a system key does, and where you get a system key, demonstrates you do not have the skills or knowledge to be messing with a subscriber radio to listen to a trunking system.
