TRX-1 DMR reception

Does anyone have any tips on DMR reception. It seems very inconsistent and prone to missed transmissions. I have noticed this while literally standing AT a business while monitoring their DMR UHF signals. Seems choppy at best. Nothing like old-fashioned, single-repeater analog monitoring of yester- year. Am I alone in experiencing this?

Maybe you had a too strong signal? Scanners doesn't have the same quality as real DMR radios. Did you try with the attenuator on and/or a less efficient shorter antenna, perhaps even without antenna?

Hello Ubbe. I pulled my old 3” Scannermaster UHF stubby antenna out of a drawer to do some testing and I’ve been getting outstanding and improved overall UHF reception. It will be difficult to do the head-to-head DMR reception testing without 2 identical radios using different antennas.

Have you tried turning on the attenuation?
