Thank you... i have programmed all the C-channels into TRX-1. I get no "bars" or Tx from any normally active TG's... I am not a scanner novice... i have successfully programmed a Uniden BCD325P2 with same system using just the Control channels... works as expected. I also tried prog all the C-channels and Voice Channels into TRX1.. no love. Do i need to manually set the tables? RR shows the table freqs and spacing but the radio only has so many features to input some of that table data so im not sure i understand how to do that on this radio.. The TRX1 is approx 2 years old. At this time i dont have means to upgrade the firmware or program thru a PC since i have all MAC devices... Also, i tried to find how to do a factory reset to no avail. Im trying to delete a previously prog P25 P2 system and it won''t even load it. Gives error code to "reset SD card"... All other functions, conventional systems work on this unit.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It looks like you do need the custom band plan, I'm not sure how to do it manually as I seldomly, if ever, do manual programming, I use EZ Scan for that.

As for the Reset SD Card you will either need to try to reformat and start over or replace the SD Card depending on the error code you are getting.

Hey also, if ANYONE out there knows the band/tables for this system please post... the radio has slots for Lo-Chan, Hi-Chan, Offset and "Step"... there's also a P2FDMA line at the bottom that already has the value 12.5Half... ive never seen that before... THANKS... ive added a screenshot of RR "channal ID table"... If anyone knows how to input this into the TRX1 manually please let me know... very grateful for any help

Your ID table is for P25. MERA is a Motorola system.

Using TRX-1 EZ Scan, for the MERA system, System Type needs to be Motorola. For the first site, under the Site Options tab and Trunking Tables, you need to select Custom and Edit and enter the following trunking tables:

Lo Ch: Hi Ch: Offset: Base Freq: Step:
380 569 380 482.0000 12.5
570 738 570 488.0000 12.5
739 759 739 490.7250 12.5

Once the first site is completed, you can create the other 4 sites and enter the frequencies. Go back to the first site, Site Options tab, and Trunking Tables. Click on Apply to All Sites. That will enter the custom trunking tables into the other 4 sites.

Hello and thank you Tvenger... The table and system to which you refer above is the same system i have all my Non- APCO P25 PHASE II scanners programmed. On October 2nd or thereabouts they switched over to a new APCO P25 PHASE II system which is in the 700 Mhz Freq range.. Is there something im missing with the above information? I have a Uniden BCD325P2 scanner which receives and transmits the new Phase II system and it's not the Motorola Type II Smartzone system to which i believe you referring... Please let me know if i have this wrong. I may just need a Windows OS and device so that i can re-format the SD card... When i try to delete a P2 system i programmed over a year ago it throws ERROR CODES telling me the SD card has a problem. Although im not sure why the rest of the CONV systems work fine..thanks again for your time

They switched over to a new APCO P25 PHASE II system which is in the 700 Mhz Freq range.

Here is a TRX-1 EZ Scan file for the MERA P25 system. I have scan lists for Schools, Interop, and Emergency Ops which are currently vacant but are available for additions to the new system. You can add additional PD scan lists starting at 21 when other departments move to the new system. Scan lists as follows:

SCAN LISTS:
1. MarCo Testing
2. MarCo Training
3. MarCo Schools
4. MarCo Services
5. MarCo Parks
6. MarCo Interop
7. MarCo Emerg Ops
8. MarCo Fire North
9. MarCo Fire Cent
10. MarCo Fire South
11. MarCo EMS/Hosp
12. MarCo Law MutAid
13. MarCo Correctns
14. MarCo Sheriff
15. MarCo Water PD
16. Central Marin PD
17. Fairfax PD
18. Novato PD
19. San Rafael PD
20. South Marin PD

yes Sir... i get the socket error too... The new MERA system IS in the RR database but, after i reformatted the TRX-1 SD card, for some reason the "manually" programmed system still does not work... Is there a downloadable library on RR?? ...This TRX-1 is taking up way too much time trying to get it to do what it is supposed to do...... i don't understand... i have a BCD325P2 and BCD996P2 that i have programmed manually and they both pick up the MERA P25 ph2 system just fine... That's why i thought id try to program the TRX1 with the EZ scan Software... i was able to update the firmware thru the software but that was all she wrote... i have written Whister a couple emails now and no replies... i imagine the Whistler customers are not happy these days... join the crowd...Thanks again for any advice etc.

of course now that i wrote that long msg i notice you can download CSV files from RR... i guess ill try to get up to speed on that process to see if it might work somehow for this damn TRX1...Do you happen to know if the "EZ=Scan" software from Whistler is supported / works with the RR downloadable files? And if so which format... THANKS !!

If you reformatted the SD card, everything in the scanner has been erased. You need to use the file I attached to program the scanner. Save the attached zipped file in post #9 to your computer. You need to download and install the Whistler TRX -1 EZ Scan programming software: (TRX-1Install_3.45.0.700.exe) TRX-1 Scanner Downloads Go to the File tab in EZ Scan and click on Restore Configuration From Archive. Open the file you just saved to your computer. Answer Yes at the warning box. It will be loaded into the EZ Scan software. Connect your scanner and computer with the programming cable. The scanner should be Off. Go to the Scanner/SD Card tab and click on Copy Configuration To Scanner Memory/SD Card. Answer Yes at the warning box. The file will be uploaded into the scanner. Eject the scanner and unplug the cable.

i apologize for your extra time and effort to help me... when i said "reformatted SD card" i meant to say i did whatever it is called that you just described... i formatted the SD then updated all the current library files, firmware etc. ... i checked all the boxes that said "erase then re-install" or whatever... i had to give back the Windows computer so i cannot open the EZ scan software anymore..i gave up..IF i cannot get updated library files from Whistler because their "server" is down or having problems as you described then i guess i have a $500 radio that just won't cooperate with the new MERA phase 2 system... i know the library files are in the SD because i successfully programmed the OLD APCO P25 Motorola Type II MERA system from the SD card files.... but that was just to test it... a simple library update from Whistler would have sovlved the problem unless the scanner is corrupt which seems very unlikely...everything else works.... just so frustrating.... and still very grateful for your help

thank you... i understand that... my verbiage may be incorrect... again i don't have the EZ scan software up to denote the exact "verbiage" but the task that was performed either "got the SD card ready to program" or whatever happened it DOES have the non-updated library files that it came with... if do a browse library sequence it will let me scroll to State, County, Services etc... i just programmed an entire county using the "library files"...LOL... now when i scan it scans a litany of stuff i need to find out how to lockout or erase... while we're here... i just re-programmed the MERA TSYS using two sites, east and west, i input ONLY the Control Channels into each respective "site" this time... i had input all the voice channels previous attempts... anyway... so i have a few "objects" programmed... still cant hear anything yet... i do appreciate your help... sorry for the confusion about SD card... i would JUMP for JOY if i could figure this thing out... BTW it picks up conv freqs just fine...Maybe, just maybe there is something im not understanding about this... like i said.. i have two Phase 2 capable radios programmed and working fine... just the damn Whistler device is just not picking up the MERA PH2 system..Thanks again

i have a thought... in the "EDIT System" field... above the TAG is has a line ---> ID:000000 spaces then P25... Do you think i may have to input the actual SYSTEM ID from the Radio Ref page... System ID line it has the below alpha-numeric text... Never heard of nor do i know of a place within the radio that has an empty space for that info... thanks again

Sysid: 4F3 WACN: BEE00
