I have a TRX-1 and I'm having issues with it decoding DMR. When I'm doing a limit search and stops on a DMR signal, It will either not decode it or decode it and once the signal drops, it won't decode when the signal come back again. I find this really annoying. Is there anyway to force it to decode DMR or set the threshold to decode a lot lower?

Thanks

In limit search it should only decode it when there is a conversation taking place and it should ignore the raw data stream. In spectrum sweep it will spew out the raw data unless it stops on a conversation, it will then play the raw data once the conversation ceases which is annoying.

Check that you have Zeromatic enabled as it could be that your search doesn't stop on the exact frequency. When you start the search, push the menu button and you are in the options for search where you set zeromatic, what protocols to search for where you thick boxes for the different ones, just thick DMR and no other if you just want to decode DMR.
If the system uses simulcast sites then there's not much you can do in the scanners settings. You could try and alter the ADC gain, that's the only setting there is for decode of DMR. Try the highest possible value first.

Used the stock TRX antenna in locations all over the country, from downtown LA to 8500' AGL from a Cessna. No issues here.
I would hope so with nothing to block the signal when your 8500 feet above the earth. The stock trx-1 antenna doesn't work so well inside a building for most people.

Hence the "all over the country, from downtown LA..."

I've run the TRX radios in BOS, LAX, SAN, SJC, SMF, SFO, ATL, ANC, SCC, FAI, OTZ, SEA, PDX, DEN, MCI, LAS, GEG, BOI and a thousand other places. No issues yet but I always carry spare antennas because diversity and I can mount 3 at a time on a custom glass mount.

And yes, I tend to speak airportese for brevity.
