TRX-1 wont attach to windows 11

I just received a TRX-1 and Im trying to connect it to my windows 11 computer but the computer wont recognize the scanner is plugged in.
I downloaded the EZScan software plugged the scanner in for updates and plugged in the scanner and it says the scanner isn't connected.
I open the device manager / ports and plugging or unplugging the scanner doesn't effect the ports listings.
the scanner will take operating power from the cord tho.
Any ideas how to get the computer to recognize the scanner?

Have you tried updating the driver from Whistler website?

Are you sure the cable is wired for data? Many (cheaper) USB cables are wired only for charging these days.

I downloaded and installed EZ Scan programming software
When I try to download the pc driver (TRX-1 Scanner_Driver.zip) I get a file named Whistler_TRX-1 TYPE SETUP INFORMATION IF I OPEN THE FILE I GET SECURITY WARNING AND TELL IT TO OPEN IT
it opens a notepad file
Microchip Composite Device MSD+CDV
This driver is required only by the CDC part of a Composite device.
Then goes through a notepad file

Are you sure the cable is wired for data? Many (cheaper) USB cables are wired only for charging these days.

I wont be able to try that on my laptop until the weekend but I'm very curious now and will follow this discussion.

I have had issues when installing EZ Scan, even though it is suppossed to install the driver sometimes it doesn't do it correctly. Another possibility is Win 11 is updating the driver each time you attach the scanner and it may not like the updated driver (I've had that issue before too) there is a setting to prevent auto updates.

Tried it on both computers in the house and neither acknowledge the plug

If like the WS1080, try holding the MENU button as you plug the cable into the scanner.

Do this and the screen reads CPU SW Upgrade waiting for USB and just sits there

No. Under device manager/ports no response when urged in or unplugged

It must be the cable! Can you connect any USB devices.
Did you install the driver then connect the scanner.
Make sure the scanner is powered OFF when connecting.

Just plugged my phone in first time and it recognized it. Going to check another device with the scanner cable

I figured it out! The cord it came with wont run data! I plugged in my gopro cord and boom everything works!

Glad to hear it's sorted! I've had several cables before that came out of the box not working.
