I just got the TRX-2 I had my area pre programmed, but when I use EZ scan to program other frequencies they don't work. Any ideas why ?

Check to see if your scansets and scanlist, that you put them in are enabled.

There are a lot of potential reasons.

Are the appropriate scanlists enabled?

Did it transfer correctly?

Please provide more information or upload your v-scanner archive and we might be able to help.

As tech savvy and experienced as I am with radios and scanners, the TRX-2 had a steep bit of learning curve for me as well. Even if you're used to trunk tracker scanners, this one is a different animal. I got frustrated with it a number of times (I've owned it about 2 weeks now). But finally got the hang of it. It's the interface (EZ-Scan) that's not so intuitive and so through some trial and error I figured things out. I believe there are still some buggy issues, but man, what a great scanner. The audio and reception are so clear. Once you understand the "object oriented" scanlist deal, you've got it down. I kept deleting freqs out of one scanlist and couldn't understand why they would delete out of all my other lists. You have to REMOVE not delete, and then you can parse it up how you like. Then the programmable LED is phenomenal. I love that feature. Red=state police, Blue =city police, green =local sheriff. Anyway, I feel your pain billyranger. I took the time to learn mine, and I love it.

Someone really needs to do a video on how to start from scratch, import a P25 trunked system, then slice it up into scanlists, name them, and set the backlight and LED preferences. I would do it I just don't have the time.

I used to be tech savvy and would have figured it out, but as I got older (52) my patients are not what they used to be. I would spend days trying to figure something out but life is too short to get so upset over something like that. So instead of going thru all that and possibly aggravating my high blood pressure I just returned it.

Sounds like you will be getting out of the scanning hobby then, as most new scanners will all have a learning curve.

I can understand. I'm old, crotchety, impatient, and want stuff to work right out of the box. I get it. I just love the radio. And when something doesn't work the way I want it to, I just keep hearing what my old man used to say, "Is it operator error?" Heh. Anyway, best of luck.
