TRX-2 Programming?

Hi, I have owned TRX1 and TRX2 since they came out and they work OKAY. But I have moved and I started to reprogram them. And I have forgotten how to do it. In fact I have messed the programming up.

Is these a simple step by step instruction online?

FYI
I'm programming the NJICS 700/800 system. Its P2 Type II trunking.

First, do you have the EZ Scan programming software on your computer? There are separate versions for the TRX-1 and the TRX-2.

TRX 1 and 2 programming is the same, here is a step by step guide with pictures

First, do you have the EZ Scan programming software on your computer? There are separate versions for the TRX-1 and the TRX-2.

Yes, I have both versions of EZ scan. I got so frustrated I had to walk away and take a break. I just came back to it. I started by making a new V folder. Now I went to Trunked Radio systems tab. and I selected union county new jersey. I clicked on services related to fire. And I imported that. I put everything into just one scanlist 1.

I fumbled around in the other tabs. In scanlist tab I saw a scanlist named INTEROP. and yes enabled. It contained all convention freqs - NOT WHAT I WANTED.

Under Advanced fet tab I made scan set into SCAN FIRE.

In Gen Tab under Scanlist control I made scanlist 001 to read scanfire and I enabled it along with making it default.

I uploaded to SD card. I put card into scanner and turned radio on. I went into radio menue and switched to this new vfolder.

In the last 10 mins of scanning nothing is being received. But its 3 a m so I'm not expecting any fire traffic. BUT given I see conv freq I assume I messed something up.

WAIT! I just went back to s/w. I changed scanlist to SCANFIRE and I DO SEE the talkgroups. Maybe I'm okay??????

I;m fired and need sleep. I think I may have additional Replys here. I'll take a look but Im too tired to try more programming now.

I made progress today. I got the TRX 2 receiving. But it is poorly decoding. I am not sure why. Maybe its the interference of multiple repeaters on simulcast?Does the TRX do poorly compared to SDS100 or Unication G5? With the 100 and g5 I receive the same tg's fine.

Basically the trx audio sounds like it is clipping on voice peaks. Other times the audio goes from digitizing to under water to the piano sounding audio. The 100 and the G5 do none of this. Tomorrow I'll try taking the collapsible antenna off and Ill cut a 1 inch wire and stick it into the bnc.

Sounds like classic simulcast distortion.Try less antenna.
