I'm using an icom 1443B antenna now. Fits the TRX-1 nicely and great improvement on VHF-air and marinebands. The standard TRX-1 antenna isn't that bad on UHF (440-470) though.
When listening to DMR (450-460 band) the TRX-1 is easily outperformed by the Hytera PD685 on the same rubberduck antenna.
When using my outside antenna, reception is almost equal on TRX and Hytera.

Also, i tried some shieldling using alu-tape in the battery door and inside housing, but it did not improve reception, or reduced the birdie-signal on 467.250 Mhz

Screening the battery door is not going to do anything. Batteries do not give off any rf that I have ever herd of. I've seen that mentioned in a few places on here, I would love to know where that is coming from.

Usually the CPU and supporting circuits are placed at the bottom, where the batteries are, and the RF electronics at the top. The RF electronics have RF shields but the CPU circuits not so much.
