I believe there are differences in the displays as well.

Another notable difference is with DMR. The whistler's have a problem decoding DMR systems that use RAS. On the TRX-1 there is a setting where you can skip DMR talkgroup ID. Without this setting it doesn't stop on any transmissions. The WS1088 doesn't have this setting so if you live near one of these systems it would be virtually deaf. Both work great on the other DMR systems though.

It only works for conventional DMR frequencies so there's no TG management, lockout or name tags. The function aren't avaliable in trunked systems where you can manage talk groups. So the value of it are limited. It also seems to make decoding unreliable, even at full signal strenght, as I have one frequency programmed at two conventional positions next to each other, each with a single TG and it sometimes decode conversations on one TG as the other TG.

When Uniden added RAS compatibilty the decoding problems begun for all trunked DMR systems.
