Is there any way to scan a p25 trs as conventional, without CC, on the trx2?
Or to scan a set of p25 trunking voice channels as a group / conventional system along with other programmed objects / systems?

If P25 Phase 1, yes - just enter the voice frequencies as conventional objects. Keep in mind that the radio won't "track" a talkgroup using this mode but you should hear P25 Phase 1 voice that is active on the voice frequencies.

To be clear - this will not work for P25 Phase 2.

There are reasons to do this (I've done it myself). Curious - is it that you do not know the CC frequency or some other reason?

Ok - yup, that makes sense. Sometimes taking the CC out of the equation can help. On the other hand, with some trial and error specific placement of your radio, sometimes, receiving distant simulcast systems can be easier than receiving a simulcast system/site where you are actually sitting inside the intended area of coverage.
