Tryed to update , Now screen is blinking HELP!

I tryed to update my BCD996T . The download turns out to be a MGI video file ,WTH !
Now I'm looking at a blinking screen . Scanner will not scan . CAN ANYONE HELP ? UPMAN ? UPMAN ? Where are YOU?
I would like to get it back to operating heck with UPDATES! Before I did what I did It was working Just fine. Thanks Bob

Use the search function at the top of the page and search for your answer..... theres at least a hundred answers to your problem....

Not sure what the problem is, but one thing I have seen on here is that you have to do your update using the FRONT connection on a 996T, not the one on the back of the unit. Hope that helps.

Screen is blinking because there is no valid firmware in the scanner. Re-download the firmware and start the update again. Make sure you follow the instructions in the release notes to the letter.

BCD996T Prog.

Hi Davidmc36, I deleated all the downloaded files from Uniden that were on my PC. Retried to install
upgrade,and it took . I got a strange file MGI Video something. Do not know what or where it came from. But i took brake from the install then went back to trying and it worked.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I saw something on another forum about that MGI thing too. Not sure what it was.
