I have had to travel for work a lot lately and noticed that the TSA is carrying Motorola XPR handhelds which leads me to believe they are using DMR now (rather than P25 like they used in the past). I have noticed the same at other airports as well. Does anyone have insight on this? Thanks. Mike KC8OWL

Every airport I have been thru in the last couple of years, they are using APX-900 radios on federal UHF frequencies. And I am hearing them now as I prepare to travel tomorrow morning, and they are P-25.

It appears that the database for KLAS has not been updated, so check these:
406.7375, N02E
411.2875, N02E
411.5375, N02E
415.7375, N02E

I'm not saying that they would never switch to DMR, but it is highly unlikely, especially since they are just now nearing completion of moving from VHF to UHF radios over the past few years.
