Hello,

I've got two questions that I haven't been able to resolve.

(1) Who dispatches Sonora Fire Department and on which frequency?

>> I believe that CALFIRE San Andreas ECC (44 TCU L) dispatches for areas of
Tuolumne County outside of the city limits of Sonora, on 151.175. Do they
dispatch for Sonora Fire Dept. as well?

I see on the CALFIRE pages from Radio Reference that 151.1300 is listed as
San Andreas ECC (Tuolumne Command, 44B TLU CMD). I have yet to hear
anything on this frequency. Perhaps there's traffic and I just haven't been lucky
enough to hear it, I don't know.

(2) And, I'm looking for the Sonora-based PG&E frequencies. I see many allocated
frequencies for Sonora, but I'm not sure which are the main frequency(ies).

That's it. Thanks in advance to whoever has this information.

Best Regards,

Bob Gallagher, KA6IRT

CalFire San Andreas does indeed dispatch for all of Tuolumne county including the city of Sonora.

I see on the CALFIRE pages from Radio Reference that 151.1300 is listed as San Andreas ECC (Tuolumne Command, 44B TLU CMD). I have yet to hear anything on this frequency.
The dispatch frequency is quite active and goes through a repeater. The command channel will only be used when it is needed (for an incident). In addition, you need to be fairly close to the incident to pick up traffic on Tuolumne command, as it is a simplex (non-repeated) channel.

Just a quick thank you. What you wrote makes sense based on my experience. Seems like you're up to speed w/ Tuolumne County so here's another question: between East Sonora and Pinecrest (on Hwy 108) does CALFIRE have jurisdiction in this area, or are fires handled by the Stanislaus National Forest? If it's CALFIRE would San Andreas still be the dispatcher?

Thanks!

Actually the command (151.1300) is repeated and is located on 5 different mountain tops.

Going up 108 is a mixed bag, some areas are CalFire, some are USFS, some are special districts.

Interesting. I suspected there wasn't a simple answer to the Hwy 108 question.
Can you give me any pointers to get started finding the districts (e.g. district names)?

Here are a couple of maps which might assist you with what you are looking for:
The first map has a list of CAL FIRE facilites statewide, including Tuolumne County.

http://frap.cdf.ca.gov/webdata/maps/statewide/facname_map.pdf

This second map has information on which agency has jurisdiction over what area of Tuolumne County. Although no specific district names are given, it looks like a good place to start.
