Kenwood: Turner mic to use on modern kenwood

I love the retro lines of this turner microphone and love to rewire it for using on my Kenwood tm-281a can anyone point me to some how to for how to do my project?

It should work fine but the only hassle is wiring to an RJ-45 connector. It easier to make an adapter cable using a CAT5 cable to a common female mic jack and put a matching connector on the mic. The audio hot wire in the turner should be shielded and either white or red. You can use an ohm meter to find the PTT key wire.

Thanks for everyone help guys.
I actually decided to hold off on this and use it on the base cb that came in the stuff that I got.
I'll let you know if it still works

Good luck resurrecting it. Those were great mics back in their day, very good, very punchy audio. They did however tend to pick up every bit of background noise in your shack though so just be aware of that if you have anything with a fan on it.

I wonder how well the old carbon cartridge mic will work when most modern gear uses an electret mic?
