The wife and I are staying at Turning Stone tomorrow. She gambles; I don't. (Helps pay for new radio toys that way.) In any event, I couldn't find any frequencies here for the Turning Stone. NF2G's website has some trunked frequencies with unconfirmed talkgroups.

Does anyone have known-to-be-active frequencies for Turning Stone, as well as the Oneida Nation Police?

Thanks to all! Let's hope the wife doesn't gamble the truck away, as there is some sweet radio gear in there! <grin>

IIRC, Turning Stone is using MPT-1327 trunking. You need a discriminator tapped scanner, data slicer, and a computer running one of the 2 or 3 programs that can track that format, plus a second scanner for voice recovery. It is also possible that, on top of that, the Casino is using encryption. In that case, you are completely out of luck.

There might also be soundcard-based MPT software, but you still need 2 scanners and a computer.

OK then. I guess I'll just take the 2 meter handheld instead! LOL

Thanks Dave. That was quite an education. :)

The TSC's MPT-327 is not encrypted and in my opinion is not too hard to follow conversations. Not all TSC ops are on the MPT system like hotel housekeeping, maintenance, etc. since they have their own UHF conventional channels that they operate on which are on the FCC database. Services that use the on-site MPT system are gaming operations, security/EMS, shuttle buses and maybe an occasional Nation Police unit, but they primarily use an off site MPT system.

Probably the wrong answer.....but I would utilize one bank (or group of scannable objects), and just enter all of the system's frequencies.....see what happens ! It's all about experimentation !

Yea, that's an awesome set up! Are you a volunteer ___(fill in the blank)___ back home? Now show us a shot of the outside for the antennas!

Volunteer Fire to fill in the blank. <grin> I'll get some pictures of the antennas later in the week. (Not real exciting stuff however.)

As an update, I did scan the Turning Stone UHF trunked frequencies. I simply put them in a bank and let them go! As indicated, the transmissions were analog, so I could receive the transmissions, but there really wasn't all that much activity at all. The Oneida county frequencies had some activity, but they were pretty quite also.

It was a good time until the wife said, "Can we get some money from the ATM machine?" At that point, I knew things were NOT going well for her at the slot machines. <grin>

The best time for activity at Turning Stone (as well as Oneida County in general) will be during the second weekend of June, which is NYSAFC Fire 2010. This will be the second year of the conference being held at TSC, and last year it was the largest convention that TSC had hosted in their history (according to TSC themselves). On a personal note, they did extermely well with the conference (better than standing in tents in Lake George and having to walk 3/4 of a mile to get to the conference site!)

I knew you had to be something with the emergency light controller on the top there :) I am a little curious on the lap top, but that just comes to me naturally from the occupation! Again, very nice set up sir. And with 3 radios, there has to be 3 antennas out there for us to see!

Does Turning Stone run the Oneida Nation's 454 MHz frequencies, or are they on something different ?

Not sure what you really mean ? They do not own or manage the radio system, just rent airtime. Turning Stone is part of the Onieda Nation and share all resources....

I guess I should have phrased it 'use' not 'run' the system....sorry.
I was wondering what frequencies were in use there. I think i found some.
