do they run encryption on any of their channels? I am also looking for any updates for the city of tuscaloosa anyone may have that has not made it into the database.

PL, DPL tones and Frequencies.

I might be able to help you out...

Tuscaloosa PD does not use any type of encryption. However, I believe the Sheriff's Office may be. Interesting to say is that the Sheriff's Office has a conventional simulcast system, which a scanner has a little trouble being able to pick up most transmissions (due to multi-path/bouncing signals). As far as I'm concerned, you can hear the units fine, but the dispatch may be using encryption.

155.97 is TPD's channel 4, used when they're doing escorts or funerals. It uses a DCS of 271.
