I've plugged the freqs listed in the database for Tuscarawas County's Smartnet system and have never had any luck. Figured it was just a case of being too far away....

....but while playing around with my Uniden 780 and the Control Channel only settings
over the weekend I heard what sounded to be a whole lotta Tusco traffic on a new
set of frequencies. Over about an hour or so I logged traffic on these freqs:

854.4625
854.8875 (control frequency at the time)
855.4625
855.4875
856.2375
857.7875

I didn't post any of these to the database cuz I wasn't sure how accurate it was.
Anyone else in earshot of Tusc who can verify any of this and any further
info on the Tuscarawas Co system??

BTW, 57360 is listed as South Fire, but there was quite a bit of traffic while
I listened and it all sounded much more PD-related than FD.

The signal here was actually pretty good about 25 mi north of the Dover/New Philly
area...and I don't normally do to well with 800 meg stuff here.

Thanks!

Hi There,

I was through there last Friday and noticed alot of analog traffic on one of my MARCS frequencies (855.4875). I had that frequency listed as one of the MARCS c/c's for the Newport site.

I copied the analog traffic virtually all the way up 77 from just north of Marietta to the western part of Wayne Co.

I did a check of the sysid and I believe it is 050C if I remember right. I wrote it down on a napkin and then looked it up here on R/R but it was not listed. I left the napkin where I was at so I am going from memory on the sysid.

Looking at the FCC database the frequencies for the "new" system are listed at this link

http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=2777725

I will be back up in that area on Saturday and hope to gather some more information.

That's what I've been trying to monitor in Stark Co. So far I've only seen one TG on it. Have you guys seen or heard anything other than that?

That's some serious coverage if they're making it nearly to Marietta. That's at least
twice the distance I am from Tusc.

My 2096 is showing the id as C50F if I'm reading it right. Easier to read when
you're not driving .

Tusc isn't highly populated, but there's plenty of traffic on there!

There's gotta be over a dozen that've been audible at my QTH. I've programmed...
57360
57456
57744
57488
57520

into the radio thus far, but I get lazy sometimes ... there are at least as many
that I've heard beyond that I haven't programmed... ones that aren't in
the database and I don't know for sure what they are as yet.

I'm surprised you haven't heard more there. It comes in here almost as well
as the Stark Sheriff and MARCS stuff. Much better than Canton's system which
I'm less than 10 mi away from.

I'll try n' jot down some of the other TG's I've heard....

When I'm in Massillon I can hear it just fine. Just not much traffic. In Louisville or N. Canton I can barely pick it up. I think this is the system id that I was asking about a couple of weeks ago.

A guy I know on Strasburg PD told me they were going digital within the next year. He wasn't sure about the rest of the county though, but this is what I figure this system is. Any ideas?

Anybody have a current list of what the TG's are? I drove through to Cambridge Friday and I must say that this system sounds great from I-77. It had a couple of rough spots but I had a great signal most of the time. I didn't hear anything except for Smith's on the older system.

It is a good system - the signal seems to have gotten even better over the last week
or two. Sorry I can't help with anything beyond what's in the database beyond one
webpage I found which offers just an item or two that the database here doesn't have.
Even his frequencies seems out of date tho:

Some of the TG's on here do not seem to be correct. Is it just me? I heard a PD unit on an FD channel. Not sure what one it was though. I also do not hear anything on the SO's Dispatch. Any updates yet?

Any New Updates?

Are there any updates for the county TRS? I have a few TG's that I don't see in the database, can anyone help? Also, does anyone still use the conventional channels full-time, from my location I just don't hear them and I will be passing through the county here in a couple of weeks. Thanks for any help.

57936
57360-Sounds like a PD, they use BSSA 10-codes.
58480
58736
59184

And also about Strasburg PD, if they are still conventional. I know a guy on the department and he swears they are not on the county's system, but I just can't hear anything from this area.

strasburg police

i travel to marietta a few times a year and use to monitor strasburg police on 855.4625.i was going threw strasburg last week going to marietta and did not hear strasburg on said frequency.that frequency is on the county trunking system and you will get control channel data.i did look up their frequency on the data base and shows their (EXPIRED) so what is strasburg talking on and not on the county 800 system?????.i'm sure the officer is not sure about useing the county wide system.and the talkgroups are wrong from the new talkgroup changes.i hope someone will figure that out soon so i can correct the talkgroups before i return to marietta again.thanks dave
