tv antenna help

I have a tv antenna with a amplifier & for about 6 months when the wind blows it loses signal
& when it rains to.before this my signal meter on my tv was 90-100 & now its 60-75 the amplifier is still hooked up.

Have you checked to see if the coax is in good condition and connected securely? If you live in an area with lots of wind it's possible that the antenna could have moved around in the wind and damaged the coax where it connects to the antenna.

Another possibility, do you know if anything new has been constructed between the antenna and transmitter location? It's possible something like a new building could be obstructing the signal.

If you could, post the name and model number of the amplifier. It's possible there could be an issue with the pre-amp and someone here might be knowledgeable about that specific product.

I don't know the specific model of the amplifier or the antenna model either someone else put it up
I know the amplifier was around 90 bucks
there is a new steel plant almost completed about 4 miles wsw

Did you try moving the antenna around,I know some times when it rains hard I lose my signal also the digital signal does this sometimes some people call it rain fade it's more worse in the 800 MHz area,I hate digital .........

it is in the best place I found & it is not even pointed in the right direction

Sure sounds like something is lose up there. The drop in signal could certainly be related to something being built in the way, but it usually takes something being really close., It sounds like whatever is lose up there is also starting to corrode, hence the drop in overall signal strength.

Might be worth calling whoever did the original installation for you and asking them to check it out.
