That was one horrible story. They just said words that did not inform the viewer of anything aside that the city is buying radios that do some form of P25...

Likewise, it is NOT a federal mandate (YET) for interoperability/ P25. Can't completely blame the reporter, the person of contact should have given more incite as to what P25 is, not to mention more accurate details. LOL

No kidding... I was hoping for some real incite as to what the new system is going to be... But then again I don't expect to much out the "news" anymore...

It's a lower end M/A-COM analog EDACS radio. We know that the city is buying new Harris 7-800mhz P25 phase 1/2 radios that have an encryption option. What is not known is are they going to use phase 1 or 2 and where is encryption going to be used.

Those were the radios that the TV station has in their news room...
