Hello all again. I realize I have asked a lot of questions on this discussion forum and thank everyone for their assistance. I have one more question and hopefully this will be it as I am only one issue away from using DSD for what I want to do with it (finally). I am using windows xp and have dsd160 installed. I'm attempting to decode a provoice system and have the command set up with -fp and have also used the -ng setting. I noticed the -h screen says 11500 is the standard decode rate so I set my comm port to that, although initially it was at 9600. In either case I get bits of conversations, broken up. They will last maybe for 4 words and then cut out. I have exhausted the voice input settings on the line in adjustment. Just wondering if anyone has experience on what to try next? I can provide more background info on what is set up here if that would help.I am not a computer genius hence so many questions. Thanks for any input, regards, John.

DSD and

HELLO!

I have had DSD running on Provoice here for quite a while, and the main problem I had was in order to decode digital signals reliably, you MUST have a strong signal. The slightest noise on the signal and you will only get bits and pieces of recovered audio.

So check your signal strength and do what ever you can to obtain the best signal you can. Another item is a good fast dual core processor or better will help.

Good luck.

I tweaked the actual provoice file thats in dsd when you download it, and it runs A LOT better than before, I decode way much better. I can post it if you would like.

Thanks, that would be great. but my not being so technically advanced with computers, perhaps instructions how to install the file might help as well. Appreciate it, TT.

Just so folks don't need to go to dropbox to see the contents of a 46 byte file ...

Code:
dsd -fp -u1 -v1 -g 1.3 -mc -xr -w tbro.wav
