Hi!

I'm wondering if one of the P25 clusters is used by TF County Sheriff. A friend notified me of something happening earlier involving a TFCS deputy, but I'm not sure if my scanner picks them up, or if TFCS is encrypted. Can someone answer my questions? Thanks in advance.

Twin Falls is on the Twin Falls P25 Phase 1 system. They are not showing encrypted so it depends on if you have a P25 capable scanner or not.

Um... I'm not talking about Twin Falls in general, I'm talking about the Twin Falls County Sheriff. I'm not seeing them on the P25 list, unless they're merged with the PD talkgroup.

I went thru all the listings for Twin Falls and don't see the SO listed anywhere.

Maybe someone in your area will post a message and tell you the information you need.

I hit the jackpot! A guy in Florida shared a frequency and suggested to do a search.

Now the freqs just need to be added to the RadioReference database. I'm not sure though if they're running on a trunked system or if they're running on something analog.

The license tells all as it lists "PW - Public Safety Pool, Conventional." Start by listening to the two frequencies that show a "FB2", which are repeaters. There are two frequencies that use repeaters, 460.0500 and 460.2125. Then there is what looks like a tactical frequency of 460.4750. Ignore the rest of the frequencies as they are repeater input use. Confirm these frequencies are in use prior to submitting them to the RR Database.

Wouldn't ya know it, I programmed those 3 frequencies into my scanner!

Good! By looking at the locations for each of the repeater frequencies, it shows a repeater located on Jerome Butte for 460.0500 and a building in the town of Twin Falls for the 460.2125. I would guess that the first frequency is for the north portion of the county and the second for the south. The mobile authorization for 460.4750 is county wide and the base station authorization is for the courthouse in Twin Falls, which I assume is the county seat of Twin Falls County and must be where the HQ for the Sheriff's Department is located. The license data is the basis for how I'm guessing the communications system for Twin Falls County is designed.

The last time I drove through Twin Falls and Shoshone was in 1991, so I don't base my conclusions on any local knowledge I have.

As for your point on whether this radio system is trunked, the license (as shown in the upper right hand corner) is for "PW - Public Safety Pool, Conventional." The authorized emissions for Twin Falls County includes analog and digital. If they are analog right now, then they might be planning to go digital in the future, which would allow them to encrypt. The license is set to expire in 2034 and was licensed in January of this year so they are thinking ahead as to how the system will work.

The Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office operates off of the Southern Idaho Regional Communications Center ( SIRCOMM ) radio system , primarily on 453.6500 ( dispatch ) 453.4500 ( Valley Emergency ) , 460.2500 ( Data / Secondary Dispatch ) , 463.1250 ( Tactical Blue 10 ) , 462.9500 ( Rural Operations / Search and Rescue ) , 468.1750 ( Tactical Blue 8 - SWAT ) 460.0500 ( Jail / Courthouse Security ) . The Blue 2 / Blue 3 Tactical frequcies may have moved to another frequency or repeater location . I have recently discovered some additional frequencies but I don't know if they belong to SIRCOMM for a possible future P25 system use or TFSO .
