My experience (in recent years) here in New England is they rent the radios from a local radio shop. usually the radio will also have a channel plan - taped to the front (Ch/Alpha/Use) grab a picture next time, as it will help to ID what you are generally listening to...So I hung out with one of the troopers on set who had a set radio and i kid you not it had a label on it that said “rockbottom rentals” 😂

I've not seen any production use 1 frequency, since the 80/90s which was the re-enactment series "Rescue 911" with William ShatnerThey have colored stickers on the front with hand written description that is so hard to read its not worth trying, at least the radio this trooper had. I'll be back this week. They are filming the more exciting portions of this movie this mon/tue/wed weather permitting. I did ask and they said they are all on one channel. Shouldnt be too hard to scan and find.
Yes, after scanning they are using many channels.I've not seen any production use 1 frequency, since the 80/90s which was the re-enactment series "Rescue 911" with William Shatner
