Alright again I have to prefence this with the fact I looked in the database and search the forums. Does anyone know what 126.8000 and 134.000 are in the NYC area? I'm actually in NJ but I'm near NYC and can spit across the New York State Border
126.8000 MHz is East Sector which is located within the New York TRACON's Liberty Area. This sector works traffic transitioning between the terminal and enroute, this sector also handles smaller airports north of the city. The way that the New York TRACON is broken is up is into different areas. Within the NY TRACON you have the following Areas:
1) Liberty Area- Handles higher altitude traffic.
2) Kennedy Area
3) LaGuardia Area
4) Newark Area
5) Islip Area
The 134.0000 MHz frequency you are listening to belongs to the Danbury Sector of the Boston Air Route Traffic Center (ZBW) which is located in Nashua, NH
Danbury Sector also know as Sector 19 works New York metropolitan departures to the north/northeast via GREKI, MERIT and BAYYS Intersections. Sector 19 sequences BOS arrival traffic from overhead the JFK VOR with turbojet departures via MERIT from the New York metropolitan area.Sector 19 also works arrivals to BDL, ORH, BED, MHT, and SWF via DPK, and ALB arrivals via LGA.
The UHF frequency for the Danbury Sector is 317.7000 MHz. Since the transmitter is located in Shelton, CT not sure if you will be able to pick up the controller.
Hope this helps.
