As you may know, I recently return to "Scanning", and immediately discovered that putting in my Zip Code was not the end of the programming feature.
I issued a "Mayday" for someone to answer a few questions for me, but that prayer was unanswered.
I went to Facebook and luckily found a gentleman by the name of Frank Belcher, Jr. who just happens to be a scanner genius and he helps fledglings like myself get up and running. Frank does not have a set price for his assistance; he just asks for a "donation" for his services. In a matter of about 30 minutes, he had my two scanners (HP II and 436HP) up and running with about everything I could want to hear. THANK YOU, FRANK BELCHER, JR.
If you need a little help along the way, contact Frank through Facebook.
Now that I am up and running, I wanted to amplify my scanners so I purchased two different Uniden power speakers; one a (5) watt and another that is a (20) watt. When I plugged them in, the audio output was about 25% of the audio produced by the internal speakers. I contacted my new friend Frank, and he told me to buy powered stereo speakers. Duh ! I should have already known that, but I digress.
I went to my favorite department store, Amazon, and found a mini soundbar and ordered same via the link below.
I absolutely love it. It produces great sound and has colored lights in the grill for visual entertainment. And, the price is very good.
HAPPY SCANNING.
