Two Dead After Crash on Oshkosh Day One

A Lancair Super ES crashed while on approach to Oshkosh Regional Airport (OSH/KOSH), Oshkosh, Wisconsin, during day one of this years Oshkosh event. The two occupants were killed.

Crews responded to the call around 12:50 p.m. Monday, to a farm field in the area of Nekimi Avenue and Old Knapp Road, in the town of Nekimi.

A terrible way to go, being slowly grilled by flames while sitting trapped in the plane. Hopefully they where knocked unconscious when they hit the ground.

As a pilot, I hate hearing about this stuff.
I know what the Lancair is, I wonder if it was the kit or production.

I wonder the same thing myself Dan. I think it might have been a kit as a pilot would have more pride and enjoyment in flying something that he built.
