How do you use Google drive as a remote file for TTD?

Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Someone else can correct me if I am wrong. It has been a long time since I tried doing it. But I think that Google Drive, Dropbox, etc don't work as remote hosts for the tones.cfg file. The TTD program needs to be able to grab the file and save it in TTD. I think GD, Dbx, etc. open the file in some sort of viewer when you follow the file sharing link. That doesn't work with TTD.

You need to set it up on a true file server.

How do I set pulse audio volume control to auto start using crontab... Then a few seconds later start TTD at boot up? Then schedule a reboot at a given time? Thanks
. And sorry for all the headaches.. I'm trying to learn this programming between working two jobs and taking care of the family.

freezing up pi 3

does anyone here run ttd on a rpi3 model b? ive gotten it all set up and running,, but after a few hours the pi becomes unrepsonsive and i have to perform a hard reboot and start ttd up all again. I only have the usb sound card and the hdmi plugged into the pi,, ive got a powered 2.0 usb hub coming to see if its a sound card power issue,, but not hopeful that will resolve it. so anyone got any ideas?

Yes running TTD on two pi3 systems. Both headless, simple heatsinks, plastic enclosures, cheap USB sound cards, Ethernet cable not WiFi, good power supplies, v68. Early issues with cheap power supplies. Now very reliable for a long time. Most issues have been poor sound cables over the duration.

I use screen and scripts to keep it running but the logs show an unscheduled restart is very rare. Access via xrdp and VPN from my travels.

I'm gonna try to bring it to the Firehouse and plug into the Ethernet...I bought an imic sound card from Griffin technologies to use... The cheap one I had I couldn't get to work. I'm getting frustrated with it. I do have a powered 2.0 hub coming tomorrow to try.. Perhaps it's a wifi issue

Have you reviewed the logfile for any hints?
I don't know the griffin but this setup is just using the normal power connection. No keyboard monitor nor mouse. Just power,USB sound card and Ethernet cable. Streams the audio 24x7 and runs TTD. Hang in there, the end result has been worth it for me.

Has anyone tried TTD on the pixel os which I believe is based on raspbian Jesse?

Just to be fair, I just noticed my backup pi3 is having file problems. So not quite perfect at the moment. That is running raspian Linux 8 Jessie

I believe this is the system I put together following DC31's jessie lite step by step script with an ffmeg work around I had stumbled upon and shared. That was maybe FEB 2016. I installed it all on regular gui jessie but all done via command line.
Many updates since so not sure that process would still work today. Jim any thoughts on this??

The following link is an example of what I found for ffmpeg back in feb16. This is NOT the original link NOR is it tested for TTD. The only relevant part of the example being installing the precompiled ffmpeg.

https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneye/wiki/Install-On-Raspbian

Again this link is NOT tested with today's TTD. It is a newer ffmpeg than I am using.
Be careful, YMMV...

Anyone have a script to auto delete the older audio files to keep space free'd up?

Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I'm using this line in crontab to delete everything older than 30 days:

Code:
@reboot find /home/pi/TTD/Pi/audio/* -mtime +30 -exec rm {} \;

To get in remotely, you will need to do port forwarding. The best place to start is by googling port forward and the model name/number of your router.

There are other ways to do it:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/remote-access/access-over-Internet/

but I am old-school and just forward a port. It gets tricky if you have more than one router involved.

Hi all, I'm upgrading my TTD setup from a Raspberry Pi Model B+ to a Pi 3 with Ubuntu Mate.

I've got my box setup exactly how I want it with a fresh install of Ubuntu Mate 16.04 yet I am running into a serious problem with pulse audio. Sometimes (most times) on reboot my USB sound card does not show through Pulse Audio.

Here are the symptoms:

Boot Pi into X, check pavucontrol output device listed as Dummy Device and no input device shows. Unplug and re-plugin USB sound card and it shows up in pavucontrol.

Other times it will show up on startup no problem... I've tried disabling the onboard sound to no avail..

It's really strange, anyone have any ideas?

Edit: ALSA shows the usb card without issue every time.. ( aplay -l )

Thanks,
Ryan
