TX and RX listing in the Industry Canada Data Base

I was just woundering what the TX and RX frequencies are in the database for industy Canada. Now, I realize that one is the repeater but which one.

Good question although one that keeps coming up...maybe we should add it to a FAQ. I suggest listing the TX ERP when you search. The repeater usually has higher power than the other stations listed, which use the reverse TX-RX.

Of course, you could always try both (unless it is a large system). Another clue is that in the UHF bands, the repeater is usually the lower of the two, usually 5MHz apart (but not necessarily, there are exceptions). For example, repeater output is 451.2875, input is 456.2875. In the 850 bands, the repeaters are 851-869, and their inputs are 806-824.

Is there a specific instance you'd want us to look at?

Thanks for the reply, I just bought a BCD396T and aparently it has a repeater find feature so I will try that out. It seems to make sense what you said about the lower freq. being the repeater.
Next question.
I work at Ford Motor Co. and the RR Data base shows the band plan as Motorola Type II, My BC245XLT requires a base Freq. and Offset but RR does not show one. I tried plugging in the primary frequencies with the default base and offset but it will not track the control channel. I have tried experimenting withsome base freq. but nothing comes up.
Any ideas as to where I can find or figure out what these figure would be.
