So I turned on my 436 one day and couldn't hear anything out of the HCSO or HCCO. I live in downtown Humble so I've kept it locked on to the Humble site at the police department on 310 Bender. Well, I was getting no signal from the site so I figured they switched it over to the new tower on 310 Fisher basically across the street from me and revised it. I updated the database and reflashed the scanner, but still not a peep from the Humble site.

I swapped over to the NE Simulcast site and I'm back in business for Harris County law. But, what happened to the Humble site? Did they move the NE Simulcast to 310 Fisher and kill off the Humble site? It comes it like it's across the street, so maybe it is now.

Don't count on the database being accurate. They could have changed control channels to a frequency that isn't shown as a control channel in the database or did something else.

If you want to figure it out bad enough you will have to search 769-775 and 851-861, find all the control channels, note the WACN, SID and site number, of each one you find, throw out the ones that aren't part of TxWARN, and match what you found with the database and FCC licenses.

I have noticed in the past year or so several new or modified FCC licenses for that system but I don't know if any of the changes were in your area.

Appreciate the reply, Tom. I'm not down for searching out a possible control channel change. I hear the NE Simulcast site so well that it has to be in Humble now instead of out in Huffman. Before it was iffy and only gave be a bar or two of s-meter, now it's bangin'. Harris County put up a new tower that I can see from my bedroom window last year and I'm thinking it's online now and renders the Humble site a 1/4-mile away useless.

I'm obviously not in Texas... however, the Humble site indicates it's license is WPVK276. That license lists 16 frequencies for Humble but the RRDB listing is only showing 5.

ULS License - PubSafty/SpecEmer/PubSaftyNtlPlan,806-817/851-862MHz,Trunked License - WPVK276 - Harris County I.T.C. - Frequencies Summary

Something a bit more basic -- you could look at some of the other frequencies for a control channel....

851.01250
851.22500
851.51250
851.72500 existing in RRDB
852.01250
852.21250
852.42500
852.47500
852.51250
852.62500
852.73750 existing in RRDB (as CC)
853.01250
853.15000 existing in RRDB (as alt CC)
853.20000 existing in RRDB
853.40000 existing in RRDB
853.62500

Of course, as you've stated, they may have deactivated this site.... the best way to know more would be to run a Pro96Com, etc. and look at the neighbor site data....
