Types Of Scanners

I'm thinking of buying a new scanner, When I do I want to get one that has the "tone" function on it, The feature like you'd get on a pager...I hear some of the newer ones have this now but I wasn't aware of that, can someone point me to the ones that do? I have searched some of the most popular brands and haven't found that feature but it may be listed as something else I'm not aware of.. Can anyone help?

You are probably referring to to Fire Tone Out. Well, it is all or nothing. You can monitor tone-outs, but can't scan or do anything else. At present the Uniden/Bearcat BC396T, BC996T, BR330T, and BC15T support the FTO mode.
