• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Tytera TYT MD-2017 Not powering up

I have recently acquired an MD-2017 from an individual which I desired to upgrade and program. First of all, I successfully upgraded to firmware
TYT2017-UV(REC)-D414, and then I programmed the radio using the CPS 2017 V1.30 software. Everything seemed to work properly, but after turning the radio off for the night, and upon turning the radio on the next morning, I get absolutely NOTHING.....no display, no lights, and the buttons do not work. It is as if I had no power going into the radio. I have tested the MD-2017 with two different known and fully charged batteries, but still nothing. I know there is no known way to do a factory reset on this radio, but does anyone know where I could send it in for repair?? Tnx es 73 de Mike, WB0ZPW

I have to take the battery off to charge it and mine will die overnight. I can’t figure out the cause of the power draw.
