To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Is there any way to scan multiple lists on the MD-380?

I have a wide-area CONNECT+ system that I want to monitor. The MD-380 allows 32 digital contacts but it seems that I can't scan multiple lists. It only allows 32 channels per scanlist.

Am I missing something here?

Since this system has approximately 100 Group IDs that are active, I can only get 64 in one scanlist. (So I would make two zones (same freqs) pointing to Group List 1 and Group List 2 and then point both zones to the same scanlist.)

This would let me scan 64 Group IDs -- but still only one site at a time.

Just for reference, on the Vertex EVX-539, I can customize the "zones" to how many channels I want. So this lets me create large zones for all of the site frequencies. The only downside is that I have to create multiple copies since it only supports 16 Group IDs per list. However, on the EVX-539 I can scan these copies in a "Group Scan" function.

Does anyone know if TYT is planning to add support for multiple scanlist scanning?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It is only going to scan your defined list assigned per channel.

You could add another zone and create another list of 32 different TGs or use multiple radios to scan that Connect Plus system.

I have a similar problem. I'm scanning a Con+ site with 19 talk paths and over 120 talk groups across the system.

I have five radios dedicated to this system, 3 MD-380's and 2 CS-700's.

They do pretty well. When I get time I plan on programming my PD-782's to scan this system and compare them to what I have now.

Well as I said my Vertex EVX-539 can scan all of the TGIDs but it just takes a little time to program. I have 3 full sites (so that's 35 channels) and ~100 TGIDs which I need to have multiple groups. It's slow to scan this way but it works from one radio.

Since you can custom-define your zones it makes it pretty easy.
