• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

TYT MD-UV380 Ideas on future Firmware Updates/ CPS

Hello,

Just bought another DMR radio. The Tyt MD-UV380, dualbander. After my PD-355 and CS750.
I was just wondering over a lot of things which could probably be adjusted. bettered in new versions of firmware/ CPS. I use cps 107 and firmware 1705.

Questions:
1. I was hoping to bring together those ideas in a thread of which Tyt could read. Anybody join in?
2. Anybody have an idea to bring those more directly to the attention of the manufacturer?

Ad 1.
I myself found these functions interesting enough for future firmware updates:

- separate volume for vfo a and b
- volume fm and dmr more the same, because now dmr is more silent than fm
- the lowest volume (1) is still very loud in fm, please far more silent
- a display dimmer, less light, it is far to bright in dark rooms,
- a full keyboard lock that is to say for volume setting as well, now is very easy to coincidentally put volume to zero and hear nothing, e.g. this happens in your pocket
- a per channel setting for dmr radio id,

interesting concept. Better communication with TYT would be nice. But I do have a question for you. You're using cps v 107? When I try to use 107 it gives me an error message - wrong radio. I reverted back to 105 and it works, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something by not being able to use 107.
