I am looking for a radio that I can install on my Harley and have it weatherproof. I picked up the TYT TH-8600 because of it’s claim of IP67 rating. I took the top off the radio to look around a bit and noticed it doesn’t have any sort of gasket. Just metal on metal. Has anyone else opened it up to see if they have a rubberized gasket for the waterproofing? Seems like an oversight. I have made a make-shift one out of PLA 3D printing filament for now.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Secondly, IP67 does not mean driving downpour of rain or high pressure water jet when washing down the bike. I couldn't find a good resource for the rating but here is the Wikipedia version which should be close:

Take a look at IP67 versus IP68 or IP69K. Without a gasket, it might meet the IP67 test.
