Companding is the process of compressing the audio signal prior to transmission and expanding it after reception.Thank you for that. What does a compander do? I saw that in the menu but had no idea what it does.
Combined with proper microphone technique, it can improve audio quality.
You will probably want to do some testing to get a feel for the best distance from the mic and the best voice level o that compandering yields the best results on your radio.
