• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Tytera TYT UV-390 Plus not playing nice with Anytone 878UVII ENC

I recently purchased a pair of new TYT 390 UV Plus radios as they have the AES option. Strange thing is, the TYT will output voice from the Anytone while encrypted but the Anytone will not output voice from the TYT. Just pure silence. Quadruple checked all the settings and they are the same. Stumped on this one unless one of the radios is not 100% fully AES compliant. Any thoughts?

I have. Both radios say they are compatible with motorola (i have seen videos of the anytone working with M) not the TYT. I have more of the anytones (use them for my photography business) than the TYT. Just liked the better weather rating on the TYT. The TYT is brand new so maybe a firmware update in the future will fix the issue.

As I would expect, radios using a standard like AES should be able to work together. I have made the Anytones work with the new TYT. It was user error. I transposed some numbers.

I'm currently having the same issue. It's driving me crazy. What was the fix?

Same here... same exact issue - the screen lights up on the AnyTone, and it shows the inbound caller information but nothing comes out of the speaker (no sound).

The TYT I purchased on Amazon seems to work ok with Anytone encryption, but the newer model (with GPS) I purchased from Buy Two Way Radios still does not. Let me know if you find a solution.

Experiencing same problem here. I see nobody gave you an answer, but since it's been a while, I thought I'd ask if you'd figured a way through this. Did you find a way to get it to work?

He answered in post #4. He transposed some numbers.

Thanks Bill - I appreciate the quick reply. I should have asked the folks who commented *after* OP said his problem was due to transposed numbers. Certain that’s not my problem.

I’m having same problem. OP problem was transposed numbers. Did you ever figure out what was happening on yours?

On mine, I’ve checked and reloaded AES keys on both the Anytone and TYT several times with no luck. All other settings appear to be the same. Again I’m only having this issue on the newer TYT MD390+ model that comes with GPS. Older model works with the Anytone just fine.

Same problem here. Waiting for someone to find the solution. I have tried everything. When I transmit from the Anytone878UVIIPlus the MD390UVPlus Receives the AES256 Encrypted Traffic. But not vice versa.

Thanks
