Tytera TYT uv8000d audio issue

I have had this radio since 2017 and absolutely love it, it was my first ham radio, however all of a sudden i have lost all audio, like something is plugged into the jack, you can still see the s meter move and all that and still transmits fine just no audio. i have been unable to find anything on the webs to aid in the repair, can someone help me

Hi @KN4EWT. If you plug an earpiece into the jack, do you hear audio? If you do, the jack’s contacts are probably not closing when you pull the plug out. Try pushing the plug in and pulling it out five or so times. If audio returns to the main speaker, you have a jack that is failing.

Thank you, that was the problem, i had to open it up to fix it, the little metal piece pushed out causing the flapper contact to not make contact. thank you!
