Hello all,
Is there anyway to unlock my Uk ubcd3600xlt .It seems to be blocked from 512Mhz to 806Mhz which is not very good if its meant to be a full coverage scanner?

Cheers Kev

Freq coverage is limited for legal reasons, and certain parts of the mainboard are buried in epoxy to prevent the user from altering anything.

For reference, the US version BCD436HP is missing 512-758 MHz as well as certain sections of the 800 MHz band.

Strange most scanners in the UK don't usually get the same limit control as the US. My old Aor2800 has full coverage also my Yupiteru ?

Much of that frequency range is used for UHF TV broadcasting in the US. As such it is probably not useful enough for the scanner manufactures to include. The Whistler TRX series is missing much of this range as well (512-764 MHz). Interestingly my older Uniden BR330T does receive in this range. In fact it receives everything from 100 KHz to 1300 MHz except for the old analog cellular phone ranges (824-849 and 869-894), which are blocked by law in the US.
