Hi,
I have programmed my Uniden 996T scanner using FreeSCAN (FS), and I think I have come to it's limits. But I'm not sure.
When I open FS and go to Set Scanner Options, nothing I do from these menus change anything within the scanner. So that I am not sure of?
And also, even though I have programmed all of the frequencies that I wish to scan while I'm travelling Australia, the scanner still will scan CB Radio and Marine. I can not remove these frequencies from the scanner. Then to make it more confusing for me, when I press SRVC, it brings up a whole other menu with Racing, TV Broadcast, FM Broadcast, Police, Marine, Railroad, Air, CB Radio and UHF CB Radio. So how do I remove these menus from the radio completely? Also the welcoming message can not be changed even though I have removed it from the Set Scanner Options..... I am use to programming HF, UHF and BHF radios but this has me confused.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
PS, I am in Australia.

In the scanner menu, scroll to Search for and press E. Sroll to Edit Service and press E. Scroll to CB Radio and press E. Scroll to Search with Scan and press E. Scroll to Set Lockout and press E. Scroll to Lockout and press E. Press SCAN/SEARCH to exit menu. Do the same thing for Marine. You cannot remove the menus or frequencies from the scanner. They are in the firmware.

In addition to my previous post #2, you can also select the service search and lockout under the Service Search tab in FreeSCAN. The welcoming message is under Set Scanner Options and the General tab in FreeSCAN. Did you click on OK and then save the change?

I do believe this is what I have tried. I will try again. Thanks.

Here is the picture that was meant to be attached to the message.
I have ARC996 software also. Please attach your programming files so I can take a look at them. You will need to zip the files to be able to attach them. Click on Attach files and open the zipped files. Please attach your configuration file also.

I can attach the file from FreeSCAN but not from ARC996. Will that help?
