I am running Ubuntu 16.04 on my laptop and raspbian on an older raspberry pi. When I go into them via teamviewer, the video response, its painstakingly slow. What can be done to make this better? If I hook a monitor to either, and go in via teamviewer, they work normal. I did also try vnc viewer on the Pi and that was no better.

Thanks

On the Raspberry Pi, I adjust the default GPU memory from 64 to 128 and it made a big difference when viewing remotely / headless.

------------------------
It appears my adjustment was correct. I found this on the VNC site: https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/docs/raspberry-pi.html

If performance seems impaired, try:
1 On your Raspberry Pi, run sudo raspi-config, navigate to Advanced options > Memory Split, and ensure your GPU has at least 128MB. (You can do this from the Desktop as well via Preferences. Either method does the same thing and it will require a reboot.)

2 Reduce your Raspberry Pi’s screen resolution.
------------------------

Connectivity is another issue to look at. An ethernet connected Pi 3B looks better than a 3B + on WiFi for me.
