News from the Cache Valley Scanner Gang:
UCAN has cut over the new 2 location Cache Simo site, numbered it as #5, and turned off site 53 as an IR Site. Only 2 locations - downtown Logan at the Police Dept and Newton Hill up north. Mt Pisgah still due into the simo "before snow flies." Reports indicate the electricians are up there now.
Early reports improved coverage significantly in North County, tho some noise in Trenton by the RR tracks!
Same frequencies plus a few:
13/851.3375
24/851.6125
34/851.8625
45/852.1375 Control
189/855.7375 ACC+Digi
208/856.2125 ACC+Digi
278/857.9875 ACC + digi
357/859.9375
the channels marked ACC show in Unitrunker as Alternate control channels - rather odd for that many. Over the air discussions indicate they may also be digital-enabled.
Since 5pm when they "cut over" there has only been one stray count on the 3 "ACC" channels, with even balancing on the 1st 3 and last one frequency.
They almost had it up last night but too much "warbling" apparently caused by out-of-timing caused perhaps by a bad gps board.
Cool - "CACHE" shows on the PSR500 digital readout for the site besides "5".
Next stop for the interped engineers is Beaver!
We'll give it 24 hours for comments then submit.
Thanks to Gagetmikey, Gregfab, Fire822 & wbloss!
