OK seems a bit boring here.
Long ago I learned the FCC requirement of providing station ID. I expect it varies by service.
For tens of years I have heard top-of-the hour ID's of the call sign for various PD and FD's. Then the CWID came in vogue which is fine since I still remember Morse code. With trunking I wonder if the ID is somehow embedded in the data stream? I have not seen it, but maybe it does not get decoded. Or maybe the FCC has decided just not to worry about call-sign ID.
WHat DOES bother me is when you listen to some UCAN sites in a non-trunking receiver you will hear the MCW "WUCAN" which sort of gets the point across but certainly cannot be legal.
Any thoughts?

Is "WUCAN" in morse code?

Watching the system with software you do see I think "BSI" or "ID" .

Fould this info googling.

*******************************
BSI
Base Station Identifier. A Morse code signal that is automatically transmitted every thirty minutes, broadcasting the system identification of that site. The BSI is transmitted on the lowest frequency used at that site. This signal is sent in order to conform to FCC regulations.

Also some good info on terms used.
