Check this link out. Might shed some light on the matter. If you look at the Power Point I think they will stay pretty much the same. There is actually some verbage in there that says the talkgroup structure will stay the same and any changes will come at the user's expense. I doubt you will see many jurisdictions coughing up the cash for that. Likewise it would seem they are going to get some of the smaller jurisdictions converted over because Sprint/Nextel will be paying for some of the new radios.
I have actually heard some of the UCAN Maintenance/Engineers talking as they go from site to site working. So the new software is already being installed, I think.
