Thank-you for the freqs. I was just to lazy to open the calculator. I did notice also today, that TG 58880-Lifeflight Encrypted was being used today. Not a peep out of my GE-500. I even "parked" on the TG, while seeing them on Trunker, and nothing. I wonder if the scanner has an Encryption shut-off "thingy"?

Site UC34

I am going to Manti tommorrow. I know as far as locations of the sites go that one of the 3 can be heard better in Richfield than Manti. I mention this because there is a Question of the locations of some of the sites down in that area. I will update with Site #'s Control And Voice Channels and anything else when i get back. i will also Check for a new one and see if Mt Baldy is up. I will not have a laptop or trunker program with me just my 396T.

I dont know which way we will take but i will update when i get back.

I was only able to pick up Site 34, which i guess is Gunnison. i Had Gunnison Programmed in my scanner a long time ago but I never got the control channel. Now that Site 34 is rebanded the control channel is 856.4375, I didnt hear any traffic while i was there, but it was saturday. The jail used to be active no matter what but i couldnt find any other control channels or activity other than manti site 323h on 860.3375 which i think might be Questar.

Enos,

Which way did you end up driving?

I think site #34 is Barton Peak, which is the closest site to Manti, so that would make sense that you picked it up. A couple weeks ago I drove from Gunnison to Manti and then Nephi. I rode in the back seat with Unitrunker running. I have some good screen shots from Gunnison, Barton, and Levan. At that time Barton and Levan had been rebanded but Gunnison had not. My internet at home has been down and I keep forgetting to bring the screen shots to work so I can post them, but I will remember one of these days. I saw a little bit of traffic on Levan and Gunnison, and none at all on Barton. Barton is the only signal I can Rx while inside Manti, same as you. South of Sterling I start to get Gunnison, and start to lose Barton. Maybe next time you go you could drive south and see if you get the same results.

I double checked the FCC records today and indeed 856.4375 is licensed to Barton and not to Gunnison. If you find anything to the contrary please say so. Lets both double check the next time we go there. Hopefully someone will start to talk on that site soon.

Coincidentally, I heard the UCAN Radio Engineers talking extensively about Barton Peak (site 034) today, expressing disappointment because they are losing coverage from Barton just east of Sigurd. They had two engineers headed down there tonight to look at the installation tomorrow.

I would bet that just as you start going south east out of Sigurd you would loose Site34.
Anything west would be fine. But the canyon going east you would loose it for sure.

Monroe Peak would Cover a large area including most of that canyon.

I have noticed this as well and was curious about the same thing. I can hear the encryption noise on my Uniden, but the GRE is silent. No big deal seeming that I cant listen to it anyway. However, I would like to toggle this option to be able to confirm activity.

We ended up going to manti via huntington canyon and fairview canyon but i only heard the 2 control channels i mentioned earlier. i'm wondering if they merged two site together. i had old info for gunnison from older sites before i had went to manti and submited info. i have no idea where the sites are from one control channel to another all i know is that my 396T said 856.4375 was site 34. i only got 1 ucan site from fairvew canyon to manti, with the exception of ford and teat.

When i was in manti before the rebanding there was 2 ucan sites i could pick up within manti area and one other south toward richfield. but this time i only picked up one. on the way back we took the thistle way and come out somewhere in the spanish fork canyon area before the summit where i could pick up rebanded teat really strong, then ford at the summit. i dont know when im going again, but i will let you know if i go out of town anywhere.

It looks like they did Francis Peak today. Someone might want to run trunker on it for a while.

If it does have an Encryption shut-off thingy, then I'm buying one. When my ARD25 encounters encrypted P-25, it gives me 2 seconds of garbled noise, then mutes for the remainder of the transmission. For catching misset or misprogrammed units operating in the clear, on systems intended to be 100% coded, a system which completely blocks encrypted traffic would be even better.

Lemme know!

My 396T garbles it then mutes the rest just like that. my pro-94 doesnt mute a thing and sounds like the control channel through the whole transmission as well as my pro-95 did.

800 mhz

This might be a little of coure for the thread but it does have to do with the 800 and rebanding.
I have a chance to get a Realistic Pro-2055, 1000 for $100. I'm wondering how this would do or if i would need to do anything to it to get it to work on the 800mhz for Cache Valley.

Thanks.

Fire822, as I understand the Pro-2055 can't handle rebanded channels. As it stands right now Logan Peak does not require a rebanded scanner because of the freq. that they are using but Cal Mountain does. So that scanner would be able to monitor Logan Peak but not Cal Mountain. They are putting in a new simulcast site that we don't know what freq. it will be using yet.

800 cache valley

The guy that run's the scanner right now had this to say

When I reprogrammed last time, I put the new freq’s for Cal Hill in, control channel 853.475000, and have been using it with those 5 frequencies.

I also put in the new frequencies for Mt Logan, control channel 858.93750, and have been using it since that last program.

any Help?
