Hello all,

As we saw in our other thread (which is getting quite long so I started this one) UCAN has began its rebanding process. To my knowledge Site 12 and Site 42 are the only two that have been rebanded thus far with site 22 coming up soon. I figure we can use this thread to talk about sites that have converted and the challenges receiving them.

Here is a shot of Unitrunker on Site 42 after the reband:
UCANSite42r.jpg

While I was there I also tested a few things with my scanners.

UNIDEN (BR330T)
Was not able to receive all transmissions. It only followed and copied transmissions that were on LCN103 853.58750. If a transmission was on LCN527 864.1875 the scanner just sat on the the control channel.

GRE (PSR-500)
Same results as above using the default Trunk Tables. When using the tables found HERE, I could copy the traffic on LCN527 864.1875 but when traffic was on LCN103 853.58750, the scanner would display that there was a transmission (follow) but did nto actually go to a frequency and thus no audio was copied.

---------
Just realized I put this in Breaking News. I have contacted theaton to move the thread

To my understanding, theaton does not have the tools to make the change to the regular forum, only the Db. You might have to contact loumaag, the forum admin for this forum. Course, I could be wrong.

I think I may have found the problem. It look like I had a value out of place in my custom Trunk Tables. I will try and check this again this weekend to verify if this corrected the issue and allows the GRE to receive as expected.

Bnielsen you need to go into unitrunker and modify the band plan like you do with the GRE so that it shows the correct freqs after rebanding. Channels 440-559 after rebanding become the new channels.

These are the Echo Peak Freq. that were active this weekend after rebanding
14 851.3625 Control Channel
103 853.5875
473 851.8500 Backup
505 852.6500
527 853.2000

This is what I found on Medicine Butte
217 856.4375 Control Channel
257 857.4375 Backup
297 858.4375
337 859.4375
350 859.7625

Unlike Echo and Medicine Butte that were extremely busy, I did not hear any voice traffic on Humpy but these are the control channels.
13 851.3375 Control Channel
81 853.0375 Backup
441 851.0500 Backup

Hey thanks. Didn't even occur to me to make that change. I will have to test it out this weekend to see the results.

Ford Ridge is Rebanded

And they did Ford Ridge as of 4pm this afternoon. Control channel is 851.3875 voice channels are 856.4625 857.4625 858.4625 and 859.4625 they tested them by channel numbers which made them way out of order than i listed them. 858.4625 was like 3 or 4 859.4625 was channel 2 on the radios i guess 857.4625 when they tested it they said to go to 5 and they tested it using the Ucan Digital P25 channel TG. I dont know what one is the secondary or alternate control channel or if it will switch back and forth. its still site 38 for now.

How is the 396 handling the rebanding, Enos? Inquiring minds want to know!:)

I'm just back from a trip to Alaska and catching up on things, but I'm happy to process reband updates. I think it's best to adjust the DB ASAP as the old frequencies become useless. How about discussing changes here first, as with TGs, then submitting the changes?

Im getting scared.... each day they are getting closer to Salt Lake :(
Yep, I just ordered a GRE PSR-600. It'll take a week to get here and I hope I have enough time to become somewhat familiar with it before they throw the switch on sites 1, 2, 3, and/or 11.

I have had my psr 500 for a couple of weeks now and enjoy it very much. Does anyone know when the Tooele County sites are going to be rebanded or do we just have to wait and see as they do it.

The 396T the 785D and the Pro-95 did ok so far.. they have kept the info ive put in them and is using the right TG's. I hooked up unitrunker today again too... I'll update that on here to as soon as i can.

Your PRO-95 is tracking Ford Ridge with the rebanded freq OK then? I thought this particular model would be a paperweight after the rebanding stuff came out way back when. Can you get Teat Peak in Spanish Fork Canyon and has it rebanded yet?

From the Freq. that enos posted it looks like Ford Ridge should be good on the old scanners. The only freq. that are suppose to be a problem for scanners after the rebanding is the ones between 851 - 854 that have a zero in the fourth decimal place.

851.***5 will work 851.***0 won't work. Same with 852. and 853.

Hearing UCAN tech traffic talking about "accessing both sites on Strawberry Ridge Road" which tells me that they possibly are rebanding the sites at Strawberry and possibly Daniels Canyon. With Medicine, Echo and Ford rebanded sounds like they are going East to West. Possibly doing the Simo sites last? Just a guess.

I wonder if we can get UCAN to adjust their freqs to match our scanners?? Probably not.
I got the okay from my Girlfriend and ordered a PSR-500 this morning. Downloaded the software, and am now trying to make sense of it.
