Just as a side note, I once saw a bank of scanners, BC 780 XLTs, in a news article on TV when KUTV (Channel 2) moved to their new digs on Main Street. They were broadcasting a tour of their new facility. We scan the emergency channels mostly as hobbyists, they rely on the scanners for leads to most of their news stories. You think we are not happy with the upcoming rebanding, think of what the news people are going through. I know they have alternate sources, but some of those sources are rusty from not having been used. Get out the WD-40!

So what does this really mean, are the frequencies going to like go higher into a new range like over 900mhz? or are they just redoing all the current frequencies and changing them to frequencies that have less interference - yet in the same 800mhz range?
