Hello,

I was wondering if someone could tell me what UCAN sites are used for Box Elder, Tooele counties. I have looked at the db on this site and all the other counties are clearly shown.
I unfortunatley don't live in Utah but I visit/pass through quite often. I have been able to listen to other counties, but have never gotten the right site(s) for the abovementioned counties. I am looking for the main site for each county if there is one.

Thanks for any and all help

Box Elder: Site 005 (Reservoir Hill)
Tooele: Site 020 (Black Crook Peak)
Tooele: Site 029 (Vernon Hills)
Tooele: Site 030 (South Mountain)
Tooele: Site 031 (Delle)
Tooele: Site 032 (Wendover Peak)

I have heard alot of diffrent county traffic on other repeaters though so dont limit yourself to just these ones.
Examples of this are, Box Elder can be heard on Weber Site 001, Tooele can be heard on Salt Lake Site 003 and Salt lake Site 011.

LGLHOOK,

What I want to do, is for each bank in my BC780 I want to have each counties frequencies. Can I still do that and not miss any transmissions if I only use a specific UCAN site for that particular county.

Thanks for the help

I dont know that much about those scanners. I have radio shack scanners but that is how I have my scanner set up, a diffrent bank for each of the diffrent counties. I do have some cross repeaters in diffrent county banks as well such as Farnsworth Peak on both Tooele Co. and Salt Lake Co., Parleys Canyon on Summit Co. and Salt Lake Co., etc. I hope this helps. Say for instance, In my Tooele county bank, I have :
Site 003- SL County
Site 011- Nelson Peak
Site 020- Black Crook Peak
Site 029- Vernon Hills
Site 030- South Mountain
Site 031- Delle
Site 032- Wendover Peak

So the cross repeaters for Tooele Co. would be site 003 and 011 cause I can pick up Tooele Co traffic on these repeters in closed scan mode.

It will allow you to put those many channels in to one bank and then scan without causing conflict.

on my pro-96 and 2096, all i have to put in is the control channels. I usually put in an active one and an alt. (usually not active) I have no problems scanning AT ALL.

Do you only enter control channels, or do you have to enter voice channels too?? I am not firmilar with the 97, didn't like it too much so I never got to know it's features.

Just the control channels, I tried it ont he Pro -97 and entered it in for nelson peak and little cottonwood and it seems that the cottonwod cahnnel takes over as the primary channel.

The BC 780 can be operated in "Control Channel Only" mode. I prefer to enter all of the associated channels with each Control Channel because it seems to be more efficient, albeit rather selective. In CC mode, you will see all of the TGIDs that hit that CC. You can lock out the TGIDs you prefer not to listen to (i.e. dog catchers) up to, I think, 99 lockouts per bank. CC only mode just seems to flood the bank with too many superfluous TGs because in CC mode, you will hear TGs that are not entered into your List Groups as well.

I do not know if you can enter more than one CC per bank.

Don't know much about the BC 780, hate them, but the Pro-96 works much better with only the control channels programmed because it does not have to search through all the programmed frequencies (Pro-92 has a longer delay because of this)

If you close the scan mode you only pick up the id's you wish to hear with no problems.

once again, the pro-96 lets me put as many CC in the same bank as I want with no interferance.

I checked my manual and found that only one CC per bank will work.

i have a BCD 396T and live in Price ut (Carbon County) which i seem to pick up a new one for spanish fork canyon and have programmed all the salt lake systems on it u can seperate the systems and put them in the same bank on this model partially cuz there is no limit on channels but do you know where this new site is? the scanner decodes the SID as 7202h-0038 which i assume is site 38 not sure and the control channel is 866.3875 people from utah county might be able to tell me more about it i assume its either on teat peak or provo payson or it might even be closer. the associated channels are 867.3875 and 868.325 and uses life flight airmed dispatch salt lake uhp south and uhp sl county and 2-3 more about 5-6 talkgroups use it so far but there are quiet point in between or breaks where is goes a while w/o any trraffic at all. anyway just curious. on an unrelated item questar uses trunking too for carbon emery counties and the scanner id's this as SID 133Ah on alternating freqs 859.6625 and 860.6625 although just picks up the talkgroup id only when they talk to bluestakes from salt lake my other scanner pro- 95 would pick up id's for both sl and price questar and way how can i look up these SID #'s on the internet i have tried with no luck so i can get accurate or better idea on what freqencies will be used what its used for and where its located and used at. ok rambeling done :)
