That is very interesting and I wonder if they are really just offline for a while. I mean, if you look at the posts here in the Utah Forum for the past month or so, UCAN is always being talked about. According to kf7yn they are not too sociable.

UCAN was so paranoid about protecting their info they refused to give information to the US Department of Health and Human Services who asked them for information prior to the Olympics!
Read all he has to say about them here.

Crayon -- What's your point? That link is an archive back to 2005....

BTW, the site is still down.

I thought it was obvious, but here is the long version .. :)

FWIW is an acronym that means: For What Its Worth. Since you threw out the question for us to ponder "Perhaps just maintenance?", it gave me the impression that you might be thinking that the website may or may not come back.

If the site does go down perm, at least there was a record of some the users on the system circa 2005 as opposed to none.

Sorry -- I guess that thinking was a little obtuse for my simple brain... :)

BTW, the UCAN site is back up this morning -- I reviewed it, and could not find any updates or changes made. They still haven't posted Board minutes for several months.

Oh well, I am still awaiting the TG reply to the group -- Ha! Since the site lists the names/contacts for the Executive Committee, I would ask: Do we know any of them personally? Maybe we could lean on one of them, if we did....

Also, if anyone ventures to my turf, Summit County, I would like to point out that all older cc's are off the air with the exception of Quarry Mtn, 866.9375 (Originally posted by Junior1970) And note that the system has several new unID' TG's along with the rest of UCAN. I am working on it...
