i can't recall if its the same situation, and tvengr makes me think its different, but i had a hard lockup with a pro668 once and took the batts out for a couple of days to let the internal power die to reset. just an option, that may or may not help.

you need to reinstall the firmware for that scanner which looks like the grecom psr-800.
The OP's photo says Radio Shack on the scanner. Let's let the OP tell us which scanner it is before loading the wrong firmware and bricking the scanner. I believe it is a Pro-668. The Pro-18 does not have the MENU button shown in the OP's photo.

A similar looking issue with the TRX1 is solved by pulling out one of the batteries for just a couple of mins, and it resets when the battery goes back in/its powered on again.

You need version 2.3 or 2.4 pro-668 firmware.
If you can't get the file or don't know how to load it send the scanner
to Whistler for the Legacy upgrade. It will come back repaired and updated with DMR reception.

:cautious: Do you know if this PRO-668 has or had the unofficial (some call it hacked) update? If it has it be careful of which F/W you use to try and fix the F/W. Also, if your wanting to upgrade the radio to the available legacy upgrade, sending it in with the unofficial software will result in Whistler invoicing you for the repair/cost for the unofficial upgrade to the WS01080 (which is a few bucks higher than the basic legendary HW upgrade to the WS-1080. Finally, IF the radio is just the outdated RS Pro-668, and you choose to update it by using the legacy update (which is the lowest cost point for a basic PRO-668 not modified by the unofficial update), as mentioned here and elsewhere, the update will open up the radio quite nicely as a Whistler WS-1080. Whatever you choose, good luck! :cautious:
